“Confess to yourself in the deepest hour of the night whether you would have to die if you were forbidden to write. Dig deep into your heart, where the answer spreads its roots in your being, and ask yourself solemnly, Must I write?”
Rainer Maria Rilke
What would you rather die for than be forbidden to do?
Afterthought:
I found this quote and it so sums up exactly how I feel about my ability to write and communicate:
"One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter."
James Earl Jones
create. anything. if i couldn't i would wither and die.
ReplyDeleteIn a nutshell, about 2 years ago I was becoming increasingly ill...having difficulty doing anything (my hands still shake some) and so I learned knitting. I found that I could at the very least knit some. I never thought of knitting before but I found that it's something that I can always bring with me. Never having to wait in another doctor's office with nothing to do :)
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies! Wow! I learn so much about my readers through comments...so valuable!
ReplyDeleteFor me write or communicate openly and honestly my feelings...especially with those I love. Forced silence, lack of open communication or an unwillingness to respond, express or comminicate is very challenging for me...
